September Newsletter is on the way! What to expect from this issue:

ree

This past Thursday, the September edition of The Reporter: The official newsletter of the Wyoming Public Employees Association (WPEA - SEIU Local 1990) was passed along to the Postal Service to send out to the membership. Many of you may have already had it delivered, though some are likely still in transit. While we typically send out these issues every quarter, there is nothing typical about the September issue.

New Projects and Organizing Work

As mentioned previously on this page, WPEA has revamped its online presence, both through the website and our social media pages. The Reporter touches on those changes to WPEA's digital footprint, and explains why consistently viewing and utilizing the new online features is so important to the association's work going forward. The newsletter also highlights the organizing events that WPEA has done over the last couple of months. If you want WPEA to come to your community, contact our office!

Interim Committee Work and PAC work

WPEA has been tracking closely the interim committee activities pertaining to the issues affecting WPEA members. From staffing levels to school recalibration to pension plan changes, our staff has compiled together updates that is important for public employees such as yourselves to be aware of.

Why Joining WPEA Matters!

When WPEA Executive Director Betty Jo Beardsley was putting together the first draft of this newsletter, she wanted to feature front and center the importance of being a WPEA. Her front-page article highlights the history of the association and the work that past public employees did to protect and expand benefits for members and non-members alike. She stresses the importance of a robust, active membership base to combat the issues facing public employees today, and encourages all members to discuss WPEA's work and encourage coworkers to sign up.

Join WPEA: Fighting for fair treatment of public employees on the job, off the job, and after the job is done!
